This policy explains what personal information Ekta Mobile collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers this website and the information you give us at our shop counter.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Ishabhai Chaudhari, trading as Ekta Mobile, a GST-registered proprietorship carrying on the retail sale of mobile phones and accessories.

For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the data fiduciary in respect of the personal data described below.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Through this website

This website is informational. It has no user accounts, no shopping cart, no payment processing and no analytics or advertising trackers. We do not run a server-side database of visitors.

• Enquiry form. The enquiry form on our contact page does not transmit anything to us directly. It opens your own email application with the details you typed already filled in. Nothing is sent until you press send in your email app, and nothing is stored on this website. Once you send it, we receive whatever you chose to include — typically your name, phone number, optional email address and your message.
• Theme preference. If you switch between the light and dark colour themes, that choice is saved in your own browser's local storage so the site remembers it next time. It is a single setting, it stays on your device, and it is never sent to us.
• Server logs. Our web hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is generated by the hosting infrastructure for security and reliability purposes, and is subject to that provider's own retention practices.

2.2 At the shop

• Billing details — your name, and where you provide them, your phone number, address and GSTIN, so that we can raise a valid GST tax invoice.
• Repair records — your name and contact number, the handset model and IMEI, and a description of the fault, so we can identify your device and contact you when it is ready.
• Warranty and exchange records — details needed to process a warranty claim or to value a handset taken in exchange, including identification where the law requires it.

3. How we use information

We use the information described above only for these purposes:

• To answer your enquiry and give you the information you asked for.
• To complete a sale and issue a GST tax invoice as required by law.
• To carry out and track a repair, and to contact you about its progress.
• To process a warranty claim with the manufacturer or their service centre.
• To keep the accounting and tax records that Indian law requires us to keep.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not send marketing messages unless you have specifically asked us to.

4. Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies. It uses one item of browser local storage, ekta-theme, purely to remember whether you chose the light or dark theme. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings, with no effect other than the site reverting to your system's default appearance.

There are no third-party analytics scripts, advertising pixels, social media trackers or embedded external content on this site. All images, styles and scripts are served from this website itself.

5. Sharing with others

We share personal information only where it is necessary, and only with:

• Manufacturers and authorised service centres, when processing a warranty claim or sending a device for service on your behalf.
• Payment providers and banks, to the extent needed to complete a card, UPI or EMI transaction. We do not store your full card details at any time.
• Our accountant and tax authorities, as required for GST returns, statutory filings and audits.
• Law enforcement or other authorities, where we are legally obliged to disclose information.

6. How long we keep information

Invoices, accounting records and other documents required under the GST and Income Tax legislation are retained for the period the law prescribes. Repair job records are kept for a reasonable period after the repair so we can honour any warranty on the work. Enquiry emails are deleted once the enquiry is closed and no longer needed.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:

• Confirm what personal information about you we hold, and give you a copy of it.
• Correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
• Erase information we no longer need, where we are not required by law to keep it.
• Withdraw a consent you previously gave us.
• Raise a grievance about how we have handled your personal information.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details in section 11. We may need to verify your identity first. We aim to respond within 30 days.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, including keeping physical records secure at the shop and limiting access to the people who need it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authority of any breach where we are required to.

9. Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through it. Where a purchase involves a minor, we deal with the parent or guardian.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if our practices change or the law changes. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Please check back occasionally.
