Returns & warranty policy

How warranty, replacement and repair claims work on goods bought at Ekta Mobile.

Last updated: 4 August 2026 Operated by: Ishabhai Chaudhari (trading as Ekta Mobile)

We want you to be happy with what you buy. This page sets out plainly what is covered, what is not, and what to bring when you come back to the counter.

1. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to goods and services purchased in person at Ekta Mobile, Shop No. D 5, Gandhidham, Kachchh, Gujarat 370201. We do not sell online, so no distance-selling or online cancellation rights arise.

Nothing in this policy takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other applicable Indian law.

2. Your invoice is your proof

Every sale is billed on a GST tax invoice. Please keep it. The invoice is what establishes the date of purchase, the item and its serial or IMEI number, and it is required for any warranty or replacement claim, whether made through us or directly with the manufacturer.

If you have lost your invoice, come to the shop with the handset — we can usually trace the sale from our records and reprint it.

3. Handset warranty

New mobile phones are covered by the manufacturer's standard India warranty, not by a separate warranty from us. The period, the terms and the exclusions are set by the manufacturer and are stated in the documentation inside the box.

Manufacturer warranty claims are handled through that brand's authorised service centres. We will help you identify the right service centre, prepare your paperwork, and explain what to expect — but the repair or replacement decision rests with the manufacturer.

4. Dead on arrival

If a brand-new handset is faulty out of the box, tell us immediately and do not continue using it. Manufacturers operate a "dead on arrival" process with a short window — commonly the first few days after purchase — during which a genuinely defective unit is replaced rather than repaired.

Bring the handset with its complete box, all accessories and the invoice. The unit must be free of physical or liquid damage. Timelines and eligibility are set by the manufacturer, so please come to us as soon as you notice the problem.

5. Accessories

  • Manufacturing defects. An accessory that fails through a manufacturing defect will be replaced with the same or an equivalent item, subject to inspection and to the warranty period stated at the time of sale.
  • Unopened items. An unused accessory in its original sealed packaging may be exchanged for another item, at our discretion, within a reasonable period of purchase and on production of the invoice.
  • Hygiene and fitted items. Earphones, earbuds and similar in-ear products cannot be exchanged once opened, for hygiene reasons. Screen guards and tempered glass are non-returnable once applied to a device.

We do not offer refunds or exchanges simply because you have changed your mind about an item that has been opened or used.

6. Warranty on repairs

Where we carry out a repair, any replacement part we fit is covered against defects in that part for the period stated on your repair invoice. The cover applies to the specific part replaced and the workmanship involved in fitting it — not to the rest of the device.

Bring the repair invoice when making a claim on a repair.

7. What is not covered

Warranty cover — ours or the manufacturer's — does not extend to:

  • Physical damage, including cracked screens, dents and damage from being dropped.
  • Liquid or moisture damage, including corrosion.
  • Normal wear and tear, scratches, and gradual battery capacity reduction with age and use.
  • Damage from using a non-standard charger, cable or accessory.
  • Devices opened, modified or repaired by anyone other than us or an authorised service centre.
  • Software problems caused by rooting, unlocking the bootloader, custom firmware or user-installed applications.
  • Faults caused by power surges, fire, flood or other events outside anyone's control.
  • Missing, altered or damaged serial number or IMEI labels.
  • Consumable and cosmetic items, and loss of stored data.

8. Exchange and used handsets

Where we take your old handset in exchange, the value we offer is based on its model, condition and current market demand at that moment, and it is confirmed only after we inspect the device. Please remove all accounts and screen locks and take a backup before handing it over — a device still linked to an account cannot be accepted.

Any second-hand handset we sell is offered with its condition described honestly at the time of sale, and is covered only by whatever limited warranty is expressly written on that invoice. Manufacturer warranty generally does not apply to used devices.

9. How to make a claim

  1. Call us on +91 97127 27422 to describe the problem, or come to the shop.
  2. Bring the item, its box and accessories where possible, and the GST invoice.
  3. We will inspect it at the counter and tell you whether it falls under manufacturer warranty, our repair warranty, or is a chargeable repair.
  4. If a chargeable repair is needed, you will get a firm quote before any work starts.
  5. We will keep you informed of progress and return the item once it has been tested.

10. Your data during service

Please back up your data before handing over any device. Repairs, software work and warranty replacements can result in the loss of everything stored on the device. We cannot guarantee that data will survive a repair, and we are not liable for data loss. We are happy to help you take a backup at the counter first.
